ITHACA, NY – Three more school records fell on Saturday, as the RIT women's swimming and diving team is wrapped up action by placing fourth out of 15 teams with 938 points at the 2017 Upper New York State Collegiate Swimming Association (UNYSCSA) Championship held at the Ithaca College Athletics and Events Center. Host Ithaca won the team competition with 1,488.5 points.

Overall, nine school records fell during the four-day event.

Sophomore Sedera Zbranak (Austin, TX/Lake Travis) broke her third individual record of the week, earning runner-up honors in 200-yard backstroke with a NCAA "B" cut qualifying time of 2:03.35, breaking the previous school record of 2:06.95, set by teammate Brenna Woodling (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville East) two years ago. Zbranak had a time of 2:05.19 in the preliminaries, which was the fastest by nearly two seconds.

RIT had five of the top 12 finishers in the event. In addition to Zbranak's runner-up finish, Woodling was fifth overall with a time of 2:07.31, Olivia Phillips (Louisville, CO/Fairview) placed seventh in 2:09.72, Emily Lederman (Morgantown, WV/Morgantown) finished 11th (2:10.66) and Eleanor O'Gorman (Yarmouth, ME/Yarmouth) 12th (2:10.66).

Adams broke her own school record in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing third in the preliminaries with a snappy time of 2:25.04. Adams had a time of 2:25.26 in the event at last year's state championship. She placed fifth overall in the finals, completing the event in 2:27.22.

Zbranak, Lederman, Genevieve Senecal (Westfield, MA/Westfield), and Daylen Smith (Lockwood, NY/Waverly) broke a three-year old school mark, finishing sixth overall in the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 3:34.11. The previous record of 3:36.17 was set by Katie Baldwin, Alex Timberlake, Jill Sirkis, and Mariah Lamb. RIT's "B" quartet of O'Gorman, Phillips, Rachel Kobel (Bergen, NY/Byron-Bergen), and Woodling enjoyed a solid race with a time of 3:42.10.

Adeline Maykish (Caldwell, NJ/Caldwell) represented RIT in the grueling 1,650-yard freestyle, finishing 11th overall in a time of 18:23.36. On the sprint side, Smith placed 19th in the 100-yard freestyle in 55.19 seconds.

Megan O'Connor (Spring City, PA/Owen J. Roberts) was 19th in the 200-breaststroke with a time of 2:33.93, while Rachel Kobel (Bergen, NY/Byron-Bergen) placed 21st and Katrina Mayer (Bristol, VT/Vergennes Union) was 23rd.

Zbranak and Adams will see if they receive bids into the 2017 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championship, which will take place from March 15-18.
