The Gordon Field House and Activities Center, named in honor of the generous contributions of Lucius “Bob” Gordon and his wife, Marie, not only accommodates the growing demand from the campus and the community for recreational space, but also affords event space for Institute-wide gatherings of nearly 7,000 people. It helps build a sense of community and campus pride as well as bring increased community visibility for RIT.

Opened in 2004, the Gordon Field House serves as a premier venue for the RIT swimming and diving and track and field teams, as well as back-up venue for men's and women's tennis, along with practice gyms for men's and women's basketball.

The Gordon Field House helps build lasting memories for those on the RIT campus and the Rochester community. The 160,000 square-foot, two-story center serves as the crowning jewel to a complex that includes the Hale-Andrews Student Life Center, Student Alumni Union, Ingle Auditorium, Clark Gymnasium, Ritter Ice Arena, and the Schmitt Interfaith Center.

An integral part of RIT’s campus wellness program, the Gordon Field House is in use 17 hours a day, seven days a week.

The center includes:

A 60,000 sq. ft. field and event venue
An aquatics center for both competition and recreational use
A fully equipped 16,000 sq. ft. fitness center
