Jess Calzolari named a 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-District selection

ROCHESTER, NY – Senior Jess Calzolari (Longmont, CO/Mead) of the RIT women's track and field team was named to the 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's Track and Field/Cross Country Team, announced on May 25.
 
The CoSIDA Academic All-America program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. The 2017 Division III National Academic All-America honorees are to be announced on June 21.
 
A physician assistant major, Calzolari recorded a 3.54 grade-point average. In addition, she was a four-year member of the National Society of Leadership and Success and was a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative.
 
Calzolari wrapped up a tremendous four-year career at RIT, earning 2017 Liberty League Indoor and Outdoor Field Athlete of the Meet honors. She was also the 2017 Liberty League Indoor Field Athlete of the Year after representing RIT in the pentathlon at the 2017 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. She holds RIT records in the indoor (11.42 meters) and outdoor (11.26 meters) triple jump, and outdoor high jump (1.62 meters).
 
A multi-events standout, Calzolari recorded top scores of 4,150 in the heptathlon and 3,234 in the pentathlon. She was runner-up in both events at the 2007 NYSCTC Championships. Calzolari won the long jump and triple jump events at both the 2017 Liberty League Indoor and Outdoor Championships. In 2016-17, Calzolari was an eight-time Liberty League Field Athlete of the Week and earned two RIT Female Athlete of the Week honors.
