ROCHESTER, NY -- Despite inclement weather in Rochester and Spring Break, it was a busy week for RIT Athletics. Here is a look back to last week and a brief look ahead to another action-packed weekend of events at RIT for the week of March 21, 2017. For more information, check out www.ritathletics.com.

Women's Swimming and Diving:

Last Week:
Amy Adams (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) and Sedara Zbranak represented RIT at the 2017 Division III Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at the Conroe ISD Natatorium in Shenendoah, Texas.

On Wednesday, Adams recorded a personal best time of 24.87 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle preliminaries on Wednesday, but did not qualify for the final. She finished 19th overall in her preliminary heat of the 100-yard breaststroke on Friday, just missing a qualifying berth in the final and All-American status by three spots and 21 one-hundredths of a second with a time of 1:04.12. Competing in the 200-yard breaststroke on Saturday, Adams placed 28th overall in the preliminaries with a time of 2:25.71, missing out on the finals by six seconds.

Zbranak recorded a time of 1:52.92 seconds in the 200-yard freestyle preliminaries on Thursday, finishing seventh in her heat and 33rd overall. On Friday, Zbranak placed 30th overall in the preliminaries of the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 57.41 seconds, which was 44 one-hundredths of a second shy of her school mark. Saturday, Zbranak was 27th overall in the 200-yard backstroke preliminaries, finishing in a time of 2:05.13.

Men's Lacrosse (5-1) Ranked No. 5 nationally:
Last Week: RIT went 1-1 at the Mustang Classic hosted by Stevenson University. The Tigers defeated No. 9 Amherst College 17-16 on Friday, but lost to No. 11 Dickinson College 10-9 in overtime on Saturday.

Chad Levick (Newmarket, Ontario/Huron Heights Secondary) led RIT with five goals versus Amherst, while Drew Tosaya (Kenmore, WA/Inglemoor) had two goals and three assists. Nick Nesbitt (Burlington, Ontario/Salisbuury School) got the win in net, making 12 saves. The Tigers held off a fourth-quarter rally by Amherst to avenge last year's loss in the NCAA Tournament.

On Saturday, RIT led by a goal late in the fourth quarter before Dickinson's Dylan Maher tied the score with 4:12 to play in regulation. Braden Wallace (Oakville, Ontario/Abbey Park) had a good look late in the game, but Dickinson's goalie came up with the save. Beau Riley (Homer, NY/Homer), Dave Shuster (Columbus, OH/St. Charles Prep) and Kyle Killen (Peterborough, ON/Crestwood Secondary High School) each scored twice in the loss for RIT.

This Week: RIT, ranked fifth in this week's USILA Division III poll, will face Clarkson University in Liberty League action from Potsdam, N.Y. on Saturday, March 25 at 1 p.m. RIT is 28-14 all time versus the Golden Knights.

Women's Lacrosse (3-1):
Last Week: RIT went 2-0 in a pair of games in Florida. The Tigers beat The College of Wooster, 19-9 on Monday and downed Ohio Wesleyan University 17-3. Maegen Schmauder and Nicole Bingo (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder) each scored four goals to pace the Tigers offense versus Wooster. Sammy Ward (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) tallied three goals, Emily Livecchi (Rochester, NY/Our Lady of Mercy) dished out three assists, and freshman Rebekah Snitkoff (Fairfield, CT/Fairfield Warde) got the win in net, making four saves in 30 minutes of action.

Livecchi tallied five goals on Wednesday, and Allana Fallone scored four goals as RIT downed Ohio Wesleyan 17-3. Ward tallied three goals, and Sydney DaCosta (New Bedford, MA/Bishop Stang) added two goals and an assist. Snitkoff got the win on Wednesday, making three saves. Elizabeth Hughes (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South) played the second half, making three saves.

Honors and Recognition:
Emily Livecchi (Rochester, NY/Our Lady of Mercy) – Liberty League Honor Roll

This Week: RIT hosts a pair of SUNYAC teams. Thursday, the Tigers welcome SUNY Geneseo to campus for a 4 p.m. start. The Tigers host SUNY Oswego on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.

3/23     vs. SUNY Geneseo – 4 p.m.
3/25     vs. SUNY Oswego – 1 p.m.

Baseball (3-4):
Last Week: RIT went 2-3 in Florida last week. The Tigers posted wins over Fairleigh Dickinson-Fordham 18-4, and Cornell College of Iowa 12-6. RIT pounded out 18 hits versus Fairleigh Dickinson-Fordham, including home runs by Will Gorman (Nassau, NY/Columbia) and Mike Myers (Hamlin, NY/Brockport). Jameson Moran (Geneseo, NY/Geneseo) got the win on the mound, allowing four runs on five hits and two strike outs in five innings of work.

Navada Waterman (Coudersport, PA/Coudersport), Gorman, Dom Scialabba (North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick), and Gage Blasi (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) each had a pair of hits in a 12-6 win over Cornell College Thursday to wrap up the trip. Waterman and Scialabba each drove in two runs, while Brett Bouchard (Fairport, NY/Fairport) got the win on the mound in 1 2/3 innings of work.

Softball (10-3)
Last Week: RIT went 7-2 on its trip to Florida. The Tigers had wins against The Sage Colleges, Bethany College, Gordon College, Westfield State, Millikin University, Gallaudet University and SUNY Plattsburgh. RIT outscored its opponents 61-16 in those wins. Freshman Erin Guinan (Geneva, NY/Geneva) helped lead the Tigers, earning Liberty League Rookie of the Week honors. She hit .500 (9-for-18) and slugged .833 with seven runs scored, three doubles, a home run, and five RBIs. Alexandria Lunderman (Manlius, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) continued her torrid start to the season, hitting .438 (7-for-16), while slugging .813 with two home runs and nine RBIs. Lunderman is hitting .429 with two home runs and 14 RBIs in 13 games this season.
