BUFFALO, NY – Three members of the RIT women's hockey team were honored with postseason accolades, as the 2017 College Hockey America Regular Season Awards were announced on Wednesday, March 1. Mackenzie Stone (Kars, Ontario/South Carleton) was named the CHA's Best Defensive Forward, Caitlin Wallace (Brantford, Ontario/Assumption Collegiate) won the Individual Sportsmanship Award, and Terra Lanteigne (Hatchet Lake, Nova Scotia/Charles P. Allen) was named to the All-Rookie Team.

Stone, a senior forward has seven points in 28 games this season for the Tigers. Stone, who normally plays against the opponent's top players in a checking role, played in 16 league contests in 2016-17, with six points. Stone has 14 career goals, eight of which are game-winners. She is the second Tiger to earn this individual honor, joining Lindsay Grigg, who did so in 2014-15.

Wallace has enjoyed a strong senior season for the Tigers, sitting second on the team in scoring with 15 points on eight goals and seven assists, all career-highs, in 31 games. She has taken just three penalties for six minutes this season. In league play, Wallace recorded 11 points (6-5-11) in 19 games. She was named the College Hockey America Player of the Week on Jan. 16. She joins teammate Taylor Thurston (Kanata, Ontario/All Saints Catholic) (2014-15) as the second Tiger to earn this honor.

Lanteigne has played in 20 games between the pipes in her first season at RIT with three wins, a 2.72 goals against average, and a .918 save percentage to go along with a pair of shutouts. She recorded a 2.29 goals against average and a .930 save percentage in 11 CHA regular season contests. Lanteigne had the third best save percentage among CHA goaltenders in league games and was named the CHA Rookie of the Week on Oct. 17. She has made at least 30 saves in a game eight times, including a season-high 46 at Yale.

RIT, seeded fifth, will take on No. 4 seed Penn State University in a first round game at the CHA Tournament on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. from HARBORCENTER in Buffalo. The winner will play in the semifinals Friday.
