ROCHESTER, NY -- It was a busy weekend for RIT Athletics last week. Here is a look back to last week and a brief look ahead to another action-packed weekend of events at RIT for the week of Feb. 7, 2017. For more information, check out www.ritathletics.com.

Women's Basketball: (14-8, 7-6 Liberty League)
Last Week: RIT went 1-1 last week. Friday, the Tigers beat Clarkson 78-63. Five players scored in double-figures led by Tara Lynch (Green Township, NJ/Newton) and Ashlynn Palmitesso (Fulton, NY/G. Ray Bodley) who each scored 21 points. Cori Okada (Fullerton, CA/Troy) tallied 10 points and tied her school record for assists in a game with 12. Julia Bender (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) and Jessica Glaz (Rockaway Beach, NY/Scholars Academy) each scored 10 points.

Saturday, the Tigers lost 79-72 to St. Lawrence. Okada led RIT with 24 points and seven assists. Lynch finished with 19 points, while Palmitesso chipped in 11 points off the bench.

This Week: RIT, who is sixth in the Liberty League standings, just a half game back of the fourth and final playoff spot. The Tigers play at Union College on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 6 p.m. It is the first of two regular season meetings in an 11-day span between the two schools. Glaz, is 23 points shy of becoming the eighth player in program history to reach the 1,000-pt mark.

Men's Basketball: (12-10, 6-7 Liberty League)
Last Week:  RIT went 0-2 last week, losing a pair of Liberty League home games. Friday, the Tigers lost 75-59 to Clarkson. Troy Pierre-Louis (Providence, RI/Berkshire School) led the Tigers with 16 points, while Robert Aguilera (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) tallied 15 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. Despite three players scoring in double figures on Saturday, the Tigers lost 83-74 to St. Lawrence. Pierre-Louis led the Tigers with 20 points, while AJ Horde (Oak Park, MI/University of Detroit Jesuit) scored 16 and Aguilera chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Women's Hockey: (6-20-2, 4-8-2 College Hockey America)
This Week: RIT returns to action after a weekend off. The Tigers play a pair of College Hockey America road games at Robert Morris. Friday's game starts at 2 p.m., while Saturday is a 1 p.m. puck-drop. The Tigers enter the weekend 3-1-1 in their last five games, including two straight wins at Lindenwood two weekends ago.

2/10     at Robert Morris – 2 p.m.
2/11     at Robert Morris – 1 p.m.

Men's Hockey: (10-16-1, 10-11-0 Atlantic Hockey Conference)
Last Week: RIT split a pair of Atlantic Hockey Conference games last weekend. Friday, RIT beat Robert Morris 4-1 behind two goals from Abbott Girduckis. Caleb Cameron dished out a pair of assists, and Mike Rotolo made 34 saves in net to earn the win. Saturday, RIT took a 1-0 lead early in the third period, but lost 3-1. Girduckis scored the Tigers lone goal. Rotolo made 38 saves in net.

This Week: RIT returns home to face The College of the Holy Cross this weekend. Both games at the Gene Polisseni Center get underway at 7:05 p.m. It is RIT's alumni weekend, as several former Tigers return.

Women's Swimming and Diving (8-2):
This Week: RIT is off until Feb. 15 when the Tigers begin competition at the Upper New York State Collegiate Swimming Association Championships hosted by Ithaca College.
 
Men's Swimming and Diving (6-2-1):
This Week: RIT is off until Feb. 15 when the Tigers begin competition at the Upper New York State Collegiate Swimming Association Championships hosted by Ithaca College.

Wrestling (8-6):
Last Week: RIT went 2-1 at the John Reese Duals hosted by Wilkes University. RIT defeated West Virginia University of Technology, 32-9. The Tigers lost to host Wilkes 26-22, but rebounded to be University of Scranton, 27-20. Tory Cain (Ontario, NY/Wayne), Isaiah Ocasio (Vineland, NJ/Vineland) and Dempsey each went 3-0 on Sunday. Dempsey King (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford) and Colby Hall (Deposit, NY/Deposit) were each 2-0, while Jake Sepor (Stafford, NY/Pavilion) and Nicholas Greenquist (Spring Lake, NJ/St. Rose) each finished 2-1.

This Week: RIT competes at Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, Pa. on Friday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. The Tigers wrestle at SUNY Oneonta on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 12 p.m.

Women's Indoor Track and Field:
Last Week: RIT put forth a strong showing at the Tiger Invitational held on campus at the Gordon Field House. Senior Emma Jones (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) was RIT's lone winner on the track side, cruising to a win in the 800-meter run by just over a second, finishing in a time of 2:22.28. On the field side, Kendra Bush (Palmyra, NY/Newark) had the top throw in the shot put of 12.68 meters. Samantha Kaplan (New Paltz, NY/New Paltz), the two-time reigning Liberty League Rookie of the Week, won the pole vault with a vault of 3.22 meters.

Men's Indoor Track and Field:
Last Week: RIT enjoyed several standout performances at the Tiger Invitational held on campus at the Gordon Field House Friday evening. The Tigers opened the day with the top finishers in the medley relay. The group of Brian Cusack (Holden, MA/Wachusett Regional), Andrew McPherson (Baldwin, NY/Kellenberg), Otto Kingstedt (), and Jake Barker (Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse-Minoa) won the event in a time of 10:39.72. Ethan Maguire (Penfield, NY/Penfield) led a strong contingent in the pole vault, winning the event with a top vault of 4.70 meters. Austin White (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) was right behind with a leap of 4.55 meters. Jack Smith (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder) and Michael Whelton (Boston, MA/Londonderry) both had top jumps of 4.40 meters.
 
This Week: The Tigers will host the Liberty League Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 11 a.m. at the Gordon Field House.
