ROCHESTER, NY – Three members of the RIT women's basketball team were selected to the 2017 Liberty League Women's Basketball All-Conference Team as selected by the coaches and announced on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017.
Cori Okada (Fullerton, CA/Troy) was a first team selection, while
Jessica Glaz (Rockaway Beach, NY/Scholars Academy) and
Tara Lynch (Green Township, NJ/Newton) earned second-team honors.
Okada, who was named the Liberty League Tournament Most Outstanding Player last week, leads RIT and is fifth in the Liberty League in scoring, averaging 14.3 points per game. She leads the league averaging 4.5 assists per game, and is the only player in the conference with 100 or more assists. She set the single-season record with 12 assists on Jan. 28. versus Vassar, and matched the record the next game against Clarkson. Okada is second in the league, shooting 47.9 percent from the floor.
Glaz became the eighth player in RIT women's basketball history to surpass 1,000 career points on Feb. 7. She is third on the team and eighth in the league in scoring, averaging 12.5 points per game. A 2016 First Team All-Liberty League selection, Glaz is second in the league averaging 1.7 3-point field goals per game, making a league-best 45 this season.
Lynch is second on the team and seventh in the Liberty League in scoring, averaging 12.7 points per game. She is shooting 49.3 percent from the floor to lead all Liberty League players. Lynch has scored in double-figures 19 times this season, including a career-high 33 points twice versus St. John Fisher and Buffalo State.
RIT is 19-8 on the season and will travel to Ithaca College in the first round of the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 3. It is RIT's first-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament in the program's 30-year history.
