ROCHESTER, NY -- Seniors
Braden Wallace (Oakville, Ontario/Abbey Park) and
Jon Berg (Chester, NJ/Mendham) of the RIT men's lacrosse team, were named Liberty League Offensive and Defensive Performers of the Week for the week on Monday, for the week ending Feb. 19, 2017. It is the first honor of the season for both.
Wallace helped RIT to a 12-11 win at No. 13 Ohio Wesleyan College last Saturday. The tri-captain tallied two goals and two assists. His goal late in the third quarter tied the score at 9-9, while his goal to open the scoring in the fourth quarter gave RIT the lead. He also had an assist in
Kyle Killen (Peterborough, ON/Crestwood Secondary High School)'s goal late in the fourth quarter.
Berg made 11 saves in his first collegiate start, including three in the fourth quarter at No. 13 Ohio Wesleyan. Berg made four saves in the first quarter, three in the second and three saves in the fourth quarter, including one with time running out in regulation to preserve the win.
RIT, ranked second in this week's USILA Division III Coaches Poll, will face No. 10 Stevenson University on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 1 p.m. on RIT's Turf Field.
