RIT earned one point in last weekend's series at Penn State over the weekend, falling 3-0 on Saturday, while skating to a 4-4 tie Sunday. On Sunday, RIT built a 4-0 lead before Penn State rallied to score four third period goals and earn the tie. Caitlin Wallace (Brantford, Ontario/Assumption Collegiate) tallied a goal and an assist, while Mackenzie Stone (Kars, Ontario/South Carleton), Kendall Cornine (Kinnelon, NJ/Morristown Beard), and Madison Farrand (Potomac, MD/Winston Churchill) also scored.
Wallace, a senior, has three multiple-point efforts over her last four games, with three goals and three assists over that stretch. Wallace has career-high totals of six goals and 11 points this season.
With Madison Farrand (Potomac, MD/Winston Churchill) scoring her first collegiate goal in Sunday's 4-4 tie at Penn State, it means that all six first-year skaters have found the back of the net for RIT this season. Tori Haywood (Pickering, Ontario/St. Mary's Catholic) leads all RIT rookies with five points this season.
Lindenwood enters the weekend with a 5-16-2 record, including a 3-8-1 mark in CHA play. Last weekend, the Lady Lions dropped a pair of games at Syracuse, 5-0 and 3-0. Cierra Paisley leads the team in scoring with 10 points. Brittania Gillanders and Courtney Ganske have four goals apiece to lead the Lady Lions. In net, Jolene deBruyn has played in 19 games with a 4-12-2 record, 2.62 goals against average and a .916 save percentage.
RIT leads the all-time series between the two schools, 7-6-5. The two teams split a pair of games earlier in the season at Lindenwood, with the Lady Lions winning 2-0 on Nov. 18 and RIT recording a 2-1 win the following day. Caitlin Wallace (Brantford, Ontario/Assumption Collegiate) and Kathryn Kennedy (Hamilton, Ontario) scored for RIT in the win, while Terra Lanteigne (Hatchet Lake, Nova Scotia/Charles P. Allen) made 29 saves.
RIT head coach Scott McDonald is two wins shy of reaching 200 for his career, all at RIT. He has the chance this weekend to clinch the major number 200. He is the only person in NCAA history to play at the Division I and III levels and to coach both the men and women at the Division I and III levels.
Friday and Saturday's games will begin at 2:05 from the Gene Polisseni Center. They will have video and live stats, as well as a radio broadcast online and on WITR 89.7 FM. RIT has eight regular season games left, all against league opponents, with five on home ice. The Tigers are currently sixth in the College Hockey America standings, but are just three points out of fourth place.
