Caitlin Wallace (Brantford, Ontario/Assumption Collegiate) and freshman
Tori Haywood (Pickering, Ontario/St. Mary's Catholic) earned College Hockey America Weekly honors on Monday, for the week ending Jan. 15, 2017. Wallace was named the league's Player of the Week, while Haywood garnered Rookie of the Week accolades. It is the first weekly honor for both skaters.
Wallace, a forward, tallied four points on two goals and two assists in a weekend split at Mercyhurst. Wallace, who entered the game with five points in her first 19 games this season, had a goal and an assist Friday and equaled that with a goal and an assist Saturday, while skating at a plus-3 over the weekend. She is second on the team in scoring with nine points on five goals and four assists.
Haywood recorded a goal and two assists and was plus-4 in a weekend split at Mercyhurst. Friday, she had her first collegiate multi-point outing, with two assists, in a 5-2 loss. Saturday, she scored her second collegiate goal and was plus-2 in a 5-2 win. The first-year forward has two goals and three assists this season.
RIT is right back in action on Saturday and Sunday, as they head to CHA rival Penn State for a pair of conference contests. Both games from the Pegula Ice Arena begin at 2 p.m.
