ROCHESTER, NY -- It was a busy week in RIT Athletics with plenty of highlights. Here is a brief look back at the highlights from the past week and a look ahead at upcoming events.

Women's Soccer: (2-1-1, 0-0-0 Liberty League)
Last Week: RIT went 1-1-0 last week, falling to Misericordia, 2-0 on Sunday, and rebounding to beat Franklin College, 4-2 on Sunday. Anka Parzych (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) tallied two goals in the win on Sunday, while Erin Butler (Mahopac, NY/Mahopac) tallied her first collegiate goal. Elena Wolfe (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany) converted a penalty kick, and Kelly Rogers (Ardmore, PA/Haverford) picked up the win in net.

This Week: The Tigers play two games, hosting St. John Fisher on Wednesday at 4 p.m., and travelling down I-90 to face SUNY Fredonia on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers are 25-8-1 all time versus St. John Fisher including a 4-0 win last season. RIT is 6-3-3 all time versus Fredonia State including a 6-0 win last season.

Men's Soccer: (2-2-0, 0-0-0 Liberty League)
Last Week: RIT went 1-1-0 at the Potsdam College Cup last weekend, hosted by SUNY Potsdam. Last weekend, the beat King's College (Pa.) on Saturday, before falling to host Potsdam on Sunday. On Saturday, Ryan McMaster (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) tallied in the 73rd minute off an assist from Tyler Hatch (Concord, NH/Tilton School) en route to a 1-0 win over King's. Sunday, Scott Geyer (Douglassville, PA/Daniel Boone) tied the game with his goal in the 57th minute before losing to the Bears 2-1. Cam Shipley (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) had the assist on RIT's goal. Shipley, Will Schiesswohl (Sussex, NJ/Vernon Township) and Scott Fishel (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) were selected to the All-Tournament team. Shipley was also named the RIT Male Athlete of the Week.

This Week: RIT plays two road games. Wednesday, the Tigers travel to Elmira College and will face cross-town rival, University of Rochester on Saturday in the Hillside Community Shield. This is the fifth year of the community shield being played.

Women's Cross Country:
Last Week: Did not compete

This Week: The Tigers compete at the Rochester Invitational at Genesee Valley Park. Last season, RIT finished third out of 20 teams that competed, led by Stephanie Milici (Rochester, NY/Greece Odyssey) and Emma Jones (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta), who finished 12th and 13th respectively.

9/17     at Rochester Invitational (Genesee Valley Park) – 11 a.m.

Men's Cross Country:
Last Week: Did not compete

This Week: The Tigers compete at the Rochester Invitational at Genesee Valley Park. Last season, RIT finished eleventh out of 20 teams that competed led by James Bailey (Danvers, MA/Danvers) who finished 19th overall.

9/17     at Rochester Invitational (Genesee Valley Park) – 12 p.m.

Women's Volleyball: (6-3, 0-0 Liberty League)
Last Week: RIT went 2-2 at the Marcia French Tournament hosted by Case Western Reserve and Baldwin Wallace. Friday, the Tigers lost to Case Western, in five sets, but rebounded to beat Denison, 3-2. Saturday saw the Tigers fall at Baldwin Wallace in three sets, but closed out the weekend with a five-set win over Mount Union.  Senior Sarah Szybist (Colorado Springs, CO/Ramstein) became the university's all-time leader in kills. With her 34 kills in the match against Mount Union, Szybist had amassed 1,998 kills. She broke the all-time record of 1,977, held by 2014 RIT Athletics Hall of Fame Inductee Tracy Wilt, who played from 1995-98. It was also her third match with at least 30 kills this season. Szybist, who recorded 105 kills in the four matches, was named to the Marcia French All-Tournament Team. She leads all of DIII with 5.39 kills per set and 6.37 points per set.

This Week: RIT hosts a Liberty League Crossover this weekend as defending champion Clarkson, St. Lawrence, Bard and Vassar visit Clark Gym. Friday, RIT hosts St. Lawrence at 4 p.m. and Clarkson at 8 p.m. Saturday, RIT hosts Bard at 12 p.m. and Vassar at 4 p.m. Friday will be a Tiger Den event.

9/16     vs. St. Lawrence (Clark Gym) – 4 p.m.
9/16     vs. Clarkson (Clark Gym) – 8 p.m.
9/17     vs. Bard (Clark Gym) – 12 p.m.

Women's Tennis:
Last Week: RIT opened the 2016-17 season by competing at the Mary Hosking Invitational hosted by William Smith College. On the singles side, sophomores Brianna Dimisko (Hyde Park, NY/Our Lady of Lourdes) (flight "C") and Amelia Ying (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) (flight "A") won their respective first round matchups, before losing tough battles in the quarterfinals, by similar 8-5 scores. The duo of freshmen Valerie Luttman (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) and Diana Kulawiec (Fairport, NY/Fairport) defeated Alyssa Gontzes and Tang Li of Rochester, 8-2, before falling in the quarterfinals against Rensselaer. Taylor Thum (Franklin Lakes, NJ/Ramp) and Ying moved on in the flight "A" doubles consolation in a walkover against William Smith's Katarina Kostovic and Allie Perron before dropping the semifinal match against Rochester.
 
This Week: The Tigers return to action on Friday, Sept. 16 with a road match at The College at Brockport that gets underway at 4 p.m. Peckham and sophomore Hamza Khammash (Amman, Jordan/Repton New English), competed in the "B" flight doubles, winning one match. In their first round matchup on Saturday, they took down Louis Rodgers and Ryley Amond from Nazareth, in a close 8-6 match. They then followed that up with an 8-2 quarterfinal loss to Rochester's Yifan Shen and Tanmay Thakkar.

Men's Tennis:
Last Week: RIT began its 2016-17 campaign at the St. Lawrence University Fall Classic on Saturday and Sunday. Junior Roger Peckham (Westlake, OH/Lake Ridge Academy) enjoyed a strong finish in the "B" flight singles consolation. He dropped his opening round match Saturday, but rallied in the consolation, defeating Nazareth's Dan Freilicher, 8-4.
 
This Week: The Tigers are back in action on Sunday, Sept. 25 with a road match at Roberts Wesleyan College that gets underway at 12 p.m.
