Jetta Rackleff and Erin Zach picked in the 2016 Canadian Women's Hockey League draft

ROCHESTER, NY – Former RIT women's hockey standouts Jetta Rackleff (Bend, OR/Summit) and Erin Zach were selected in the 2016 Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL) Entry Draft on Sunday, August 21.
 
Zach, a forward, was selected in the seventh round, 32nd overall by the Toronto Furies. Rackleff, a goaltender, was taken 52nd overall in the 11th round by the Brampton Thunder. Zach played the 2015-16 season with the Buffalo Beauts of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL).
 
Zach, who graduated in 2014 with a degree in multidisciplinary studies, enjoyed an excellent four-year career with the Tigers, recording 74 points on 30 goals and 44 assists in 121 contests. As a freshman in 2010-11, Zach scored a career-high 12 goals, helping lead the Tigers to a national runner-up finish in the NCAA Division III Tournament. The next season, Zach was a key member of the squad that won the Division III Championship. She helped RIT make a seamless transition to Division I in 2012-13, recording 17 points on four goals and 13 assists.

Zach enjoyed a senior year to remember in 2013-14, tallying a career-best 25 points on eight goals and 17 assists in 26 contests. Her 25 points were second best on the squad. Zach scored RIT's first goal in its eventual 2-1 double overtime win over top-seeded Mercyhurst in the College Hockey America Championship game. Zach recorded 12 career power-play tallies, five shorthanded goals, and eight game-winners, including four during the 2010-11 season.
 
Rackleff, who wrapped up her RIT career in 2016, finished 12th among all Division I goaltenders with a .933 save percentage last season. She was named the College Hockey America Goaltender of the Month for December, 2015, while leading the team with 16 games played, 889 minutes played, and a 2.36 goals against average. Rackleff was second among all CHA goaltenders with a .945 save percentage in league play.
 
In three seasons, the chemical engineering major compiled a 2.73 goals against average and .916 save percentage in 31 career contests, making 840 saves.
 
The 2016-17 CWHL season schedule is set to begin on Saturday, Oct. 15.
