Chris Schwab and Jordan Sellers earn 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-America honors

Sellers becomes RIT track and field's third repeat Academic All-America pick

ROCHESTER, NY – Seniors Chris Schwab (Holliston, MA/Xaverian Brother) and Jordan Sellers (Denver, PA/Garden Spot) of the RIT men's track and field team earned 2016 CoSIDA Track and Field/Cross Country Academic All-America honors on Wednesday, June 22. Sellers, who was also an Academic All-America selection in 2015, was a first team selection this season, while Schwab was a third team pick. Sellers is the third track and field standout at RIT to repeat as Academic All-America.
 
Sellers, a game design and development major, carries a 3.95 grade-point average. In 2015, Sellers was a Third Team CoSIDA Academic All-America selection. He won the 60-meter hurdles championship at the 2015 Liberty League Indoor Championships and was second in 2014. In 2016, Sellers was an All-Liberty League second team selection in the 100-meter hurdles and 60-meter hurdles. Sellers posted personal best times of 7.52 seconds in the 60-meters, 8.51 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles, 12.13 in the 100-meters, 15.39 in the 110-meter hurdles, 24.19 in the 200-meters, and 1:05:56 in the 400-meter hurdles. In the classroom, Sellers is an eight-time Dean's List recipient, RIT Presidential Scholar, and National Society of Leadership and Success Member, and part of the RIT Honors Program.
   
Schwab, a 4.0 electrical engineering major, was named a 2015 RIT Outstanding Undergraduate Scholar and is an eight-time dean's list recipient. On the track, Schwab recorded career-best times of 4:41.10 in the mile, 9:33.15 in the 3,000-meters, and 16:18.59 in the 5,000-meters. He was a six-time Liberty League All-Academic team selection (three cross country, three track and field) and recorded a career-best cross country time of 27:12.2 at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble in 2012.
