ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT wrestling team (4-14) was defeated by SUNY Oneonta (9-13), 21-15 in a tightly contested dual match Saturday evening at Clark Gymnasium. Prior to the match, RIT honored senior Jake Swearingen (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) with a brief ceremony before the match.
 
Dempsey King (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford) picked up a 6-0 decision over Daniel Murpyh at 149 lbs., and Won Kim (Millbrae, CA/Mills) defeated Thomas Marone, 6-0 at 157 lbs. At the 174 lb. weight class, John Donohue (Smithtown, NY/Hauppauge) picked up the pin over Shaun Gillen with one second remaining in the second period. Sam Weinger (Blooming Grove, NY/Washingtonville) also picked up a 4-0 win over Peter Pjetri at 285 lbs.

Evan Wallace defeated Joe Cutugno (Ventnor, NJ/Atlantic City), 8-2 at 165 lbs and Latzntze Lange picked up a 3-1 win over McKenzie Callahan (St. Louis, MO/St. Louis) at 184 lbs. Dominic DeGraba defeated George Bardanis (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder), 6-1 at 125 lbs., and Anthony Messina defeated Isaiah Ocasio (Vineland, NJ/Vineland), 5-4 in the deciding match at 141 lbs.

The Tigers will compete at the Si Ostrich Meet next Saturday, Feb. 20 at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio.
