ROCHESTER, NY - Junior defenseman
Brady Norrish (Strongfield, Saskatchewan/Yorkton Terriers) of the RIT men's hockey team, was named the Atlantic Hockey Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, for the week ending Dec. 4, 2016. It is Norrish's second weekly honor of the season and fourth of his collegiate career.
Norrish dished out four assists, was plus-2, and blocked two shots in a weekend sweep at Niagara. Friday, Norrish had two assists, two blocked shots, and five shots on goal in a 7-1 win. Saturday, he had recorded two assists and was plus-2 in a 6-2 win. Norrish is tied for sixth nationally with 15 assists this season and is plus-9. He is tied for the team lead in scoring.
The Tigers are right back in action on Friday and Saturday, as Providence College of Hockey East comes to town for a pair of non-conference contests. Both games start at 7:05 p.m. On Saturday, RIT will hold its annual Tiger Toss.
