ROCHESTER, NY - Freshman forward Claudia Black (Newmarket, Ontario/St. Maximilian Kobe) of the RIT women's hockey team, was named the College Hockey America Rookie of the Week on Monday, for the week ending Dec. 11, 2016. It is the first weekly honor of her collegiate career.

Black scored RIT's lone goal midway through the first period in a 3-1 loss to Bemidji State University on Friday afternoon. She has four points on two goals and two assists in 22 games played this season.

RIT is off until Jan. 13-14, 2017, when they head to Mercyhurst University for a pair of College Hockey America games.
