ROCHESTER, NY -- It was another busy week in RIT Athletics with plenty of highlights. Here is a brief look back at the highlights from Brick City Homecoming and Family Weekend and a look ahead at upcoming events for the week of Oct. 18, 2016.

Women's Soccer: (7-6-1, 3-3-0 Liberty League)
Last Week: RIT went 1-1-0. Friday, RIT lost 1-0 to Vassar. Saturday, the Tigers defeated Bard 1-0 on Senior Day at Tiger Stadium. Paige Byers (Camp Hill, PA/Cedar Hill) scored versus Bard, tallying in the 58th minute off an assist from Abbey Saia (Monroe, CT/Masuk).

Last Week's Results:
10/14   Vassar 1, RIT 0
10/15   RIT 1, Bard 0

This Week: RIT, who is in a three-way tie for third in the conference standings with Union and Rensselaer, plays at St. Lawrence on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers went 1-1-0 versus the Saints last season. RIT beat St. Lawrence 1-0 in the regular season meeting. The Saints beat RIT 3-1 in last season's Liberty League Semifinal Tigers Stadium.

Men's Soccer: (4-7-3, 1-4-1 Liberty League)
Last Week: RIT went 0-2-0. Friday, the Tigers were defeated 1-0 at Vassar.  Saturday, the Tigers lost 2-0 at Bard College.

10/15   Bard 2, RIT 0

This Week: RIT hosts Liberty League powerhouse St. Lawrence University on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 3 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.

This Week's Schedule:
10/22   vs. St. Lawrence – 4 p.m.

Women's Cross Country:
Last Week: RIT competed at the Pre-Regional Meet at Rowan University on Saturday. The Tigers placed 14th out of 45 teams with a team score of 376 points. Senior Emma Jones (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) smashed her school record for the second time this season and third time overall on Saturday, finishing 11th overall in a sterling time of 21:09.8.

Becca Schwan (LeRoy, NY/LeRoy) was the Tigers next-highest finisher, placing 73rd overall in a time of 22:27.9. Keira Higgins (Schenevus, NY/Milford) placed 80th in a time of 22:31.8, while Martine Bosch (Endwell, NY/Maine-Endwell) was 90th overall with a time of 22:45.0. Jennifer Crossen (Bason, NY/Oakfield-Alabama) came home in a time of 22:53.5.
 
This Week: Do not compete
 
Men's Cross Country:
Last Week: RIT competed at the Pre-Regional Meet at Rowan University on Saturday. The Tigers placed 14th out of 43 teams with a score of 479 points.

James Bailey (Danvers, MA/Danvers) was RIT's top performer, placing 12th out of 382 runners, finishing in a time of 23:50.4. Jon Pelzar (Redding, CT/Joel Barlow) was the Tigers next-highest finisher, placing 22nd overall in a time of 24:12.7. Grant Salk (Livermore, CA/Granada) finished in a time of 25:38.0, while Andrew Chabot (Campton, NH/Plymouth Regional) was RIT's fourth-best runner in a time of 25:47.5. Senior John Mooney (Norwich, NY/Norwich) finished in a time of 25:47.7.

Women's Volleyball: (19-11, 8-4 Liberty League)
Last Week: RIT went 4-0 as host of the 28th Annual RIT Invitational Friday and Saturday. Friday, the Tigers won both their matches in three sets over Utica and Trine. Saturday, the Tigers beat St. John Fisher College in three sets, and DeSales in four sets.

Sarah Szybist (Colorado Springs, CO/Ramstein), who was named the RIT Invitational MVP for the fourth straight year, finished with a tournament-best 67 kills and 27 digs on the weekend. Erin Parkinson (Carrollton, TX/W.T. White), who also was named to the All-Tournament Team, added 44 assists and eight digs, to go along with a pair of kills versus DeSales.

This Week: RIT competes at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational in Pittsburgh, Pa. Friday, the Tigers face Case Western Reserve at 6 p.m., followed by Elizabethtown College at 8 p.m. RIT plays Messiah College at 1 p.m. on Saturday, followed by Carnegie Mellon at 3 p.m.

This Week: RIT competes at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta on Sunday, Oct. 23 on the Charles River in Boston, Mass.

Men's Crew:
Last Week: Did not compete
 
This Week: RIT is off this week, but completes the fall season at the Head of the Fish Regatta on Saturday, Oct. 29 in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

Women's Hockey: (1-5-0, 0-0-0 CHA)
Last Week: RIT went 1-1-0. Friday, the Tigers lost 2-0 to Union. Freshman netminder Terra Lanteigne made 20 saves in net. Saturday, Kendall Cornine and Jade Mancini each scored as RIT shut out Union 2-0. Lanteigne picked up her first collegiate win, making 20 saves, while Mancini tallied her first collegiate goal.

Honors and Recognition:
Terra Lanteigne – College Hockey America Rookie of the Week; RIT Female Athlete of the Week

This Week: The Tigers hit the road for a pair of non-conference games at Yale University. Friday's game gets underway at 6 p.m., while Saturday's game starts at 3 p.m.

This Week's Schedule:
10/21   at Yale – 6 p.m.
10/22   at Yale – 3 p.m.

Men's Hockey: (1-1-0, 1-1-0 Atlantic Hockey Association)
Last Week: RIT tied Connecticut 1-1 on Saturday in front of a sellout crowd of 10,556 at Blue Cross Arena as part of RIT's Brick City Homecoming and Family Weekend. Chase Norrish tied the game at 1-1 with his goal at 11:31 of the third period on assists from Brady Norrish and Myles Powell. Mike Rotolo made 21 saves in net for the Tigers.

This Week: RIT will play a pair of non-conference road games this weekend. Friday, the Tigers face Union College at 7 p.m. in Schenectady, N.Y. Saturday, RIT faces Rensselaer at 7 p.m. in Troy, N.Y.

10/22   at Rensselaer – 7 p.m.

Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving:
This Week:
RIT opens the 2016-17 season with a dual meet versus SUNY Owego on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m. at Judson Pool. The Tigers hit the road to compete at Rensselaer on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 1 p.m.
