ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT women's soccer team was recently selected one of 590 women's soccer programs from throughout the nation to be named a 2015-16 National Soccer Coaches Association College Team Award winner. RIT was one of 236 programs nationally to have both its men and women's programs honored.
Last season, the Tigers posted a 3.25 team grade-point average, led by
Emily Shoemaker (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena), who was a NSCAA Scholar All-American selection, and
Elizabeth May (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland), who was a Third Team CoSIDA Academic All-America pick. In all, 17 members of the 2015 team earned Liberty League All-Academic Team honors.
To qualify for the award, the team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year.
