ROCHESTER, NY – RIT women's basketball head coach Amy Reed was inducted into the Allen-Rogowicz Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame on Sunday, Oct. 16.

The chapter, named after former Pottsville coaches Tubby Allen and Chet Rogowicz, selects individuals from Blue Mountain, Minersville, Nativity, Pine Grove, Pottsville, Saint Clair, Schuylkill Haven, Tri-Valley and Williams Valley school districts.

A 1999 graduate of Blue Mountain High School, Reed was a multi-sport athlete in softball, golf and basketball. She was the first female basketball player in school history to land an NCAA Division I scholarship, signing with Marshall.

Reed was a four-year starter at Marshall and was team captain during her senior year. In 2003, Reed was named the Offensive Player of the Year at Marshall and received the Dorothy Hicks Scholarship given by Marshall for excellence in academics and athletics. She is the fifth all-time leading shot blocker in Marshall University history.

Reed will begin her ninth year as the head coach of the RIT women's basketball program in 2016-17. Last season, she led the Tigers to their best season in program history, with a 20-7 record, advancing to the Liberty League Championship game for the first time. She was named the 2015-16 Liberty League and USBWA Rochester Area Division II and III Coach of the Year.

Reed is the all-time leader in coaching wins at RIT with 90 and since the start of the 2011-12 season, has led the Tigers to a 69-59 mark, with three berths in the Liberty League Tournament.
