ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT men's soccer team was recently selected one of 324 men's soccer programs from throughout the nation to be named a 2015-16 National Soccer Coaches Association College Team Award winner. RIT was one of 236 programs nationally to have both its men and women's programs honored.
Last season, the Tigers posted a 3.23 team grade-point average, led by captains
Luke Dorsey (Cazenovia, NY/Cazenovia) and
Scott Fishel (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna), who were both CoSIDA Academic All-District selections. Dorsey was also RIT's prestigious Ellingson Award winner for academic excellence. Eight men's soccer players were named to the 2015 Liberty League All-Academic team.
To qualify for the award, the team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year.
