ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT women's basketball team is nationally ranked for the first time in program history. The Tigers are 23rd in this week's USA Today Sports Division III Top 25 Coaches poll, receiving 16 points. It is the first national ranking for RIT in the 29-year history of the program.

The Tigers are currently 11-4 overall and are atop the Liberty League standings with a 4-2 mark. RIT is the highest scoring team in the Liberty League, averaging 72.4 points per game, and is out-scoring its opponents by an averaging of 7.4 points per game.

Freshman Tara Lynch (Green Township, NJ/Newton) leads the team in scoring, averaging 15.9 points per game, and is second in rebounding, averaging 6.3 caroms per game. Jessica Glaz (Rockaway Beach, NY/Scholars Academy) is second in scoring, averaging 15.9 points per game, and Amanda Olsen (Glen Mills, PA/Archmere Academy) is third on the team in scoring, averaging 11.9 points per game.

RIT returns to action on Friday, Jan. 22 when they host Vassar College at 6 p.m. at Clark Gymnasium.
