ROCHESTER, NY -
The RIT women's cross country team is nationally-ranked in the current United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the first time in program history, as the organization released its weekly rankings on Wednesday, Sept. 24. The Tigers check in to the national poll at No. 30.

The Tigers, who are also ranked No. 6 in the Atlantic Region rankings, are off to an excellent start this season. On Sept. 6, the Tigers rolled to a resounding win at the SUNY Oswego Cross Country Invitational and on Sept. 20, recorded a strong third place finish out of 22 teams at the University of Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational.

Sophomore Emma Jones (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) is a two-time Liberty League and New York State Collegiate Track Conference (NYSCTC) Runner of the Week this season with a win and second place finish, while senior Stephanie Milici (Rochester, NY/Greece Odyssey) garnered a third place finish at Oswego and was sixth at the Yellowjacket Invitational. She was named the RIT Female Athlete of the Week on Sept. 22.

"It feels good to have such a hard-working and special group of young woman be recognized for their progress thus far this season," said RIT head coach Dave Stevens. "That being said, I speak for the women when I say that although it is nice to be recognized we are not satisfied. We will continue to give our best effort each and every day until (and beyond when) we reach our goal of representing RIT at the NCAA Championships and having our first female All-American."

RIT is off this weekend, but returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 4 at the SUNY Geneseo Invitational held at Letchworth State Park. That race gets underway at 11 a.m.
