ROCHESTER, NY – Skip Flanagan (Framingham, MA/Bishop Feehan) of the RIT baseball team was chosen to play in the 2014 Futures Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Game for the East squad on July 24 at Campanelli Stadium in Brockton, Mass. Flanagan, a first baseman, will be a senior for the Tigers in 2014-15.
The FCBL is a wooden-bat league that features several Division I student-athletes.
Flanagan was one of just a handful of Division III players to play in the All-Star game. In 2014, Flanagan has appeared in 46 games for the Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide and is hitting .284 with 19 RBIs in 46 games. He leads the team with 23 walks and has an impressive .383 on-base percentage.
Last year, Flanagan was honored with the FCBL Adam Keenan Memorial Sportsmanship and Scholarship Award.
For RIT in 2014, Flanagan earned All-Liberty League second team honors, leading the team with 29 runs batted in and five triples, while drawing 23 walks. He recorded a season-best three RBIs in a game three times in 2014. In the field, Flanagan recorded a sparkling .985 fielding percentage. For his career, Flanagan is a .300 hitter with 102 hits, 68 RBIs, .387 on-base percentage, and .976 fielding percentage. Flanagan also earned 2013 ABCA/Rawlings New York Region third team honors and Liberty League honorable mention accolades.

RIT finished the 2014 season with a 19-16 mark.
