RIT men's lacrosse places three on ECAC Mid-Atlantic All-Star Team; Ryan Lee named Rookie of the Year

ROCHESTER, NY – Three members of the RIT men's lacrosse team were named to the 2014 ECAC Division III Mid-Atlantic All-Star Team, which was announced on Tuesday, June 17. Juniors Kyle Aquin (Hamilton, Ontario/St. Jean De Brebeuf), Casey Jackson (Victoria, BC/Claremont) and freshma Ryan Lee (Sharon, Ontario/The Hill Academy) were first team selections, while Lee was named Rookie of the Year.

Aquin, the 2014 Liberty League Offensive Player of the Year and first team USILA All-American, led RIT to its third consecutive Liberty League Championship in 2014 and a 20-1 record. He was fourth on the team in scoring with 63 points on 44 goals and 19 assists. Aquin, a 2014 first-team All-American and two-time first team All-Liberty League selection, tallied 13 points in five postseason games in 2014 on 10 goals and three assists. Aquin is 13th all-time in scoring at RIT with 164 points on 132 goals and 32 assists. He is seventh all-time in goals with 132 and is third all time with 30 career man-up tallies.  

Jackson, a 2014 first team All-Liberty selection and first team USILA All-American, played in 20 games and led the team in scoring with 75 points on 56 goals and 19 assists. He led the Liberty League averaging 2.80 goals per game. His 56 goals are seventh most in a season at RIT. Jackson scored a point in 19-of-20 games. He tallied 20 points in five postseason games on 12 goals and eight assists, including nine goals in three NCAA Tournament games.

Lee had an outstanding first season at RIT, earning Liberty League Rookie of the Year honors and third team USILA All-American accolades. He finished the season second on the team in scoring with 74 points on 47 goals and 27 assists. The five-time Liberty League Rookie of the Week tallied a season best seven points twice versus Cortland and Nazareth. In five postseason games, Lee tallied 13 points on 11 goals and two assists. He had three goals and two assists versus Ithaca in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

RIT finished the season with a 20-1 record, advancing to the NCAA Semifinals for the third time in four years. The Tigers, who were ranked first in the USILA poll for 11 straight weeks, ended the season with school records of 20 wins, 347 goals scored, and 573 points.
