Brittany Griffin, Sarah Wolcott, and Amanda Cook garner 2014 All-Liberty League Softball honors

ROCHESTER, NY – Senior Brittany Griffin (Sterling, VA/Park View ), junior Sarah Wolcott (Cohocton, NY/Wayland-Cohocton), and sophomore Amanda Cook (Royal Palm Beach, FL/Suncoast) of the RIT softball team were named to the 2014 All-Liberty League Softball team on Monday. Griffin and Wolcott were second team selections, while Cook was an honorable mention pick.

Griffin, RIT's third baseman, was also an All-Liberty League second team selection in 2012 and honorable mention pick in 2013. She enjoyed her best season in 2014, leading the team with a .398 batting average to go along with three home runs, 16 runs batted in, 19 runs scored, and 12 doubles, while slugging .593. In the field, Griffin recorded an impressive .951 fielding percentage, while playing the hot corner. She had a hit in all but five contests this season and enjoyed 13 multiple-hit outings. Griffin ends her stellar RIT career second all-time at the university with 13 home runs, tied for fifth with 32 doubles, and tenth with a .527 slugging percentage. She is a career .344 hitter with 134 hits, 69 runs scored, and 55 RBI's.
 
Wolcott, a 2013 All-Liberty League first team selection, enjoyed another excellent season for the Tigers in 2014, batting .398 with two homers and 17 runs batted in, while playing in all 34 contests. She led the team with 16 walks, 19 runs scored and 11 doubles. Wolcott had an excellent .486 on-base percentage and a .581 slugging percentage. She had a hit in 25 different contests this season, with 10 multiple-hit games. Wolcott, a shortstop, is climbing towards the top-10 in several categories at RIT, with six homers, 64 runs batted in, 99 hits and 33 doubles, with a .343 batting average, .409 on-base percentage, and .540 slugging percentage.
 
Cook, a 2013 All-Liberty League first team selection, has battled injuries to play in 31 games for the Tigers in 2014, batting .246 with a home run and 17 runs scored, third best on the squad. RIT's everyday center fielder, Cook is one of the better defensive players in the region. She is a career .322 hitter in 61 contests over two seasons.
