It is Giannino's second trip to the NCAA Championship, having earned All-American honors as part of the RIT men's distance medley relay team that finished seventh at the 2013 NCAA Indoor Championships.
Giannino is a four-time Liberty League Athlete of the Week in 2013-14 and has earned weekly honors nine times in his RIT career. He was also named the 2013 Liberty League Indoor Track Athlete of the Year and garnered 2013 United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team honors. Giannino was named to the 2011 USTFCCCA All-Region team in cross country.
