RIT men's lacrosse places record 11 players on 2014 Division III USILA All-American teams

ROCHESTER, NY – A record 11 members of the RIT men's lacrosse team were named to the 2014 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-American team, which was announced on Tuesday, May 20. Juniors Kyle Aquin (Hamilton, Ontario/St. Jean De Brebeuf) and Casey Jackson (Victoria, BC/Claremont) were first team selections, while junior Allister Warren (Toronto, Ontario/Malvern Collegiate Institute) was a second team selection. Ryan Lee (Sharon, Ontario/The Hill Academy) and Taylor Wisman (Seattle, WA/Inglemoor) were third team selections, and Jack Krzyston (Bedford, NH/Bishop Guertin), Eddie Kiesa (Syracuse, NY/Jamesville-Dewitt), Matt Hossack (Port Perry, Ontario/Port Perry), Mac Keehfus (Jamesville, NY/Jamesville-Dewitt), Tyler Brooks-Lambert (Seneca Castle, NY/Midlakes) and Pat Johnston (Norwell, MA/Norwell) were honorable mention picks.

Aquin, the 2014 Liberty League Offensive Player of the Year, led RIT to its third consecutive Liberty League Championship in 2014 and a 20-1 record. He was fourth on the team in scoring with 63 points on 44 goals and 19 assists. Aquin, a 2013 second-team All-American and two-time first team All-Liberty League selection, tallied 13 points in five postseason games in 2014 on 10 goals and three assists. Aquin is 13th all-time in scoring at RIT with 164 points on 132 goals and 32 assists. He is seventh all-time in goals with 132 and is third all time with 30 career man-up tallies.  

Jackson, a 2014 first team All-Liberty selection, played in 20 games and led the team in scoring with 75 points on 56 goals and 19 assists. He led the Liberty League averaging 2.80 goals per game. His 56 goals are seventh most in a season at RIT. Jackson scored a point in 19-of-20 games. He tallied 20 points in five postseason games on 12 goals and eight assists, including nine goals in three NCAA Tournament games.
 
Warren, a 2014 first team All-Liberty League selection, finished the season third on the team with 64 points on 29 goals and 35 assists. A 2013 USILA honorable mention All-American, Warren led the Liberty League with 35 assists and was second in the league averaging 1.67 helpers per game. Warren tallied a career-high seven points on six goals and an assist in a win over St. Lawrence on April 26, and currently sits in 16th place on RIT's all time scoring list with 155 (77g, 78a) career points. In five postseason games, Warren tallied 13 points on seven goals and six assists.

Wisman, a 2014 first team All-Liberty League selection, finished the season fifth on the team in scoring with 41 points on 26 goals and 15 assists. A 2013 USILA honorable mention All-American, Wisman's 26 goals were one shy of a career high as he finished his career 18th all-time in scoring with 151 points on 72 goals and 79 assists. Wisman was 13th in the conference averaging 1.24 goals per game, and tallied a season-best five points on two goals and three assists in a 14-11 win over Nazareth on April 9.

Lee had an outstanding first season at RIT, earning Liberty League Rookie of the Year honors. He finished the season second on the team in scoring with 74 points on 47 goals and 27 assists. The five-time Liberty League Rookie of the Week tallied a season best seven points twice versus Cortland and Nazareth. In five postseason games, Lee tallied 13 points on 11 goals and two assists. He had three goals and two assists versus Ithaca in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.


Krzyston, a 2013 USILA first team All-American, played in 17 games in 2014 tallying 33 points on 22 goals and 11 assists. The 2013 Liberty League Offensive Player of the Year, Krzyston tallied a season-high five points twice versus Ithaca and Brockport. Krzyston finished his illustrious RIT career tied for 20th all time in scoring with 143 points on 93 goals and 50 assists. Krzyston, the 2013 PAYCHEX Male College Athlete of the Year, tallied seven points on six goals and an assist in five postseason games.
 
Brooks-Lambert won a RIT single-season record 292 face-offs in 2014, while grabbing a school-record 178 ground balls. A 2014 first team All-Liberty League selection, Brooks-Lambert led the team and was tied for 41st nationally in face-off winning percentage, winning 61.2  (292-479) percent. The senior face-off specialist is tied for 15th in Division III averaging 8.47 ground balls per game. He won a career-high 26 face-offs versus St. Lawrence on April 26. He had 10 or more ground balls eight times this season, and finished his career at RIT fifth all-time with 360 ground balls and won 61.4 percent of his draws (617-of-1005).  

Hossack started 19 of RIT's 21 games this season. He led the team with 42 caused turnovers and was second on the team with 80 ground balls. The sophomore long-stick midfielder helped RIT's defense hold opponents to 8.85 goals per game overall, and 6.83 goals per game in conference play. He has also chipped in offensively with 18 points on 10 goals and eight assists. Hossack had three goals, three assists, 25 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers in five postseason games.

Johnston, MVP of the 2014 Liberty League Tournament, started 16 games in net for the Tigers with a 15-1 overall record, a 9.93 goals against average and a .606 save percentage in 2014. The 2013 Liberty League Defensive Player of the Year, Johnston made a career-high 24 saves in an 11-6 win over Union in the NCAA Quarterfinals. The 24 saves were the most in a game by a goalie since 2001. He is fourth all-time at RIT with 40 career wins, seventh with an 8.33 career GAA and fourth with 485 saves.
 
Kiesa, a 2013 second team All-Liberty League selection, played in all 21 games, and was sixth on the team in scoring with 38 points on 19 goals and 19 assists. He tallied a season-high four points twice on March 19 versus St. John Fisher and April 2 versus SUNY Geneseo. Kiesa, a 2013 USILA honorable mention All-American, currently sits 37th all time in scoring at RIT with 112 career points on 63 goals and 54 assists.

Keehfus, a 2013 USILA honorable mention All-American selection, started all 21 games for the Tigers, tallying 12 points on four goals and eight assists. He finished fourth on the team with 48 ground balls. The senior defensive midfielder has helped RIT's defense hold opponents to 8.85 goals per game overall, and 6.83 goals per game in conference play. He played in 56 career games at RIT, tallying 21 points on nine goals and 12 assists, grabbing 108 career ground balls.

RIT finished the season with a 20-1 record advancing to the NCAA Semifinals for the third time in four years. The Tigers, who were ranked first in the USILA poll for 11 straight weeks, ended the season with school records for 20 wins, 347 goals scored, and 573 points.
