ROCHESTER, NY - Freshman forward Dan Schuler (Webster, NY/Powell River Kings) of the RIT men's hockey team, was named the Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA) Rookie of the Week on Monday, for the week ending Feb. 17, 2013. It is Schuler's first weekly honor of his collegiate career.

Schuler scored a goal and dished out two assists in a weekend sweep at Mercyhurst. On Friday, he assisted on Matt Garbowsky (St. George, Ontario/Powell River Kings)'s second period goal in a 3-2 overtime win. The next night, Schuler drew an assist on Garbowsky's game-winning goal with 54.7 seconds left in regulation, then scored an empty-netter with 30 seconds left to secure a 5-3 win. He now has 10 points on four goals and six assists this season and leads the team with a plus-7 rating.

The Tigers return to action on Friday and Saturday, with a pair of crucial home games against Air Force that begin at 7:05 p.m.
