ROCHESTER, NY --  Sophomore diver John Tellgren (Anoka, MN/Anoka) of the RIT men's swimming and diving teams was named Liberty League Diver of the Week honors on Monday, for the week ending January 27, 2013. It is his third weekly honor of the season, and fourth of his career.

Tellgren placed second in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events at the Dick Cozmano Memorial Invitational hosted by Ithaca College on Sunday. Tellgren recorded a school record 513.40 points in the 1-meter and tallied 547.80 points in the 3-meter. He is a leading candidate to qualify for the NCAA Championships in March. Tellgren also won both events against Rochester in a dual meet on Saturday.

Tellgren and the Tigers return to action on Saturday, with a road meet at Nazareth that gets underway at 1 p.m.
