WILLIAMSPORT, PA -- The RIT wrestling team dropped two matches on Day One of the 2013 Bud Whitehill Duals hosted by Lycoming College, losing to No. 12 Wisconsin-Stevens Point 32-12, and to Thiel 25-22.  #Rory Bruce (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda)#, #Brad Mayville (Marion, NY/Wayne)#, and #Nick Stewart (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin)# each won two matches for the Tigers.

Versus Stevens Point, Bruce picked up a 6-0 win over Ryan Osse at 133 lbs. Mayville pinned Shane Sweeney at 6:50 to pick up a win at 149 lbs. Stewart defeated Matt Cuadra 5-2 at 286 lbs.

In the second match, #Mike Nguyen (Syracuse, NY/Jordan-Elbridge)# won a 4-3 decision over Nick Hart at 125 lbs. Bruce won his second match of the day, defeating Nick Sutton with a pinfall at 3:11 at 133 lbs. Mayville also won his second match at 149 lbs., defeating Shawn King with a pinfall at 2:00. #Sean Sercu (Rochester, NY/Bishop Kearney)# defeated Matt Butler 5-3 at 157 lbs., while  Stewart picked up his second win of the day with a 13-5 major decision over Ryan Murphy. Thiel picked up wins at 165 lbs., 174 lbs., and 184 lbs.

RIT returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 12 versus Case Western at 10:30 a.m. in Williamsport, Pa.
