BROCKPORT, NY – The RIT wrestling team concluded the 2011-12 season with an eighth place finish at the 2012 Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference, held at Jim and John Vlogianitis Gymnasium on the campus of SUNY Brockport. RIT finished with 30.5 points, while Cortland was the team champion with 128 points.

Tory Cain (Ontario, NY/Wayne)# was RIT's top finisher, placing fourth at 165 lbs. finishing 2-2 on the afternoon to end his excellent first season with a 26-18 mark. Senior #
Sean Sercu (Rochester, NY/Bishop Kearney)# was fifth at 157 lbs., also finishing 2-2. He ends the season with a 22-11 mark. #
Ben Johnstone (West Henrietta, NY/Rush-Hunrietta) and
Tyler Brent (Gasport, NY/Royalton-Hartland)# earned one win on the afternoon for RIT to garner sixth place finishes at 174 and 184 lbs., respectively.
The Tigers finished the 2011-12 season with nine dual wins, their most since the 1979-80 season.
