ROCHESTER, NY - Seniors #Adam Hugunine (Rochester, NY/Penfield) and Ben Johnstone (West Henrietta, NY/Rush-Hunrietta)#, along with sophomores #Mike Nguyen (Syracuse, NY/Jordan-Elbridge) and Nick Stewart (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin)# of the RIT wrestling squad were named to the 2012 Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference (ECWC) All-Academic Team on Thursday.

Student-athletes who have reached sophomore academic standing and are in at least their second semester on campus while maintaining either a cumulative or two-semester grade-point average of 3.3 are eligible for the ECWC All-Academic Team, which recognizes student-athletes who have wrestled in at least three competitions and are eligible to compete in the ECWC Championship Tournament.

Stewart is 18-14 this season at 285 lbs., with 10 wins via fall, second highest on the squad. Nguyen (125), Hugunine (149) and Johnstone (165) all have three wins apiece this season.

The Tigers close out the 2011-12 regular season on Saturday at the 2012 ECWC Championships, held on the campus of SUNY Brockport. The 10 weight class champions plus five wild card selections will advance to the 2012 NCAA Championship, which will be held March 9-10 in La Crosse, Wis.
