ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT wrestling team was defeated by No. 6 SUNY Cortland 36-3 in Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference action from Clark Gym on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers also fell to Niagara County Community College by a score of 36-8.

Against Cortland, RIT's lone win came at 285 lbs. where #Nick Stewart (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) defeated Chris Brown 3-2. (Seneca Castle, NY/Midlakes)Nicholas Greenquist (Spring Lake, NJ/St. Rose)# lost a tight, hard-fought match versus Chris Sarro at 157 lbs., 3-2.

#Rory Bruce (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda)# and Stewart each won bouts for the Tigers against NCCC. Bruce defeated Cody Carbery with a technical fall at 133 lbs. Stewart won his second match of the day, defeating Max Antone 5-2 at 285 lbs.

The Tigers return to action on January 5 when the Tigers host the NY/PA Duals beginning at 2 p.m. on the floor of Clark Gymnasium.
