ROCHESTER, NY - Freshman #Rory Bruce (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda)# of the RIT wrestling team, was named the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday, for the week ending January 8, 2011.  It is Bruce's second weekly honor.

Bruce, wrestling at 133 lbs., defeated Travis Boardman of King's 12-7, then earned a 6-3 decision over Christan Conger of Lycoming to help RIT (4-3) win both matches at the NY/PA Duals at Lycoming on Saturday.  RIT defeated King's 30-16, then came from behind to beat Lycoming, 19-16.  Bruce improved to 9-5 this season.

The Tigers return to action on Friday and Saturday, as they compete at the prestigious Budd Whitehill Duals hosted by Lycoming College.
