ROCHESTER, NY - Junior defenseman #
Kristina Moss (Webster, NY/Buffalo Bisons)# of the RIT women's hockey team was named the ECAC West Player of the Week on Monday, for the week ending Jan. 22, 2012. It is her first ECAC West weekly honor.
Moss tallied six points on two goals and four assists in a weekend sweep over Buffalo State. On Friday, she scored the eventual game-winning goal and added an assist in a 5-2 win. The following night, Moss tied a career-high with four points on a goal and three assists in a 6-1 win. She assisted on both RIT power-play goals in the first period, scored RIT's third goal and assisted on the Tigers fourth goal, a shorthanded tally. She has a goal in four straight games and is now second among all Division III defensemen with 20 points (5-15-20) in 18 games.
In addition, RIT honored the Wounded Warriors Foundation by wearing special camouflage jerseys that were auctioned off online. Moss' jersey went for a team-high $3,000.
The Tigers, ranked No. 2 in Division III, are off this weekend, and return to play on Tuesday, Jan, 31, as they host Hamilton at 7:05 p.m.
