ROCHESTER, NY - Barnes & Noble @ RIT will be giving fans the opportunity to meet their favorite players and score autographed hockey memorabilia at a meet & greet event with the RIT Men's Hockey team on Saturday, Feb. 12, from noon to 1:30 p.m., located at Park Point in Henrietta. The event is free and open to the public.
As if meeting the Division I, Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA) leaders is not enough, autographed hockey merchandise will be sold at auction and $1 minimum donations will score you a free team photo, with proceeds benefitting Ronald McDonald House Charities of Rochester, NY. Attendees will be entered in a gift basket giveaway and can watch 2010 season highlights on the big screen while enjoying snacks and beverages, courtesy of Barnes & Noble @ RIT.
Currently, the Tigers lead the AHA standings, with a 13-3-6 record and are 14-8-7 overall, riding a nine-game unbeaten streak. Last season, the RIT Tigers won both the AHA regular season and postseason titles and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Taking the East Regional Tournament Title in their first ever trip to the NCAA Tournament, RIT earned a spot in the Frozen Four, making them the first team in the AHA to ever participate.
“Barnes & Noble at RIT is proud to help support the Ronald McDonald House and we are grateful to coach
Wayne Wilson and the entire men's hockey team for taking the time out of their busy schedule to be with us,” comments store manager, Peter Briggs.
Briggs will be matching the total amount raised at the event, up to $100.
