ROCHESTER, NY - Both the RIT men's and women's soccer teams were honored with the 2011 NSCAA Team Academic Award.  A total of 792 soccer teams (220 men, 572 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the academic award for the 2010-11 academic year.  RIT was one of 161 schools that had both their men's and women's programs recognized.

The women's team finished with a 3.41 grade-point average, while the men recorded a 3.13 GPA.  Both teams enjoyed strong 2011 seasons making the Liberty League Tournament in their first year in the league.  The men finished 11-7-2 and advanced to the Liberty League Championship game, while the women finished with eight wins overall, going 6-3-0 in Liberty League play, advancing to the tournament semifinals.
