Women's cross country standout Erin LaFave set to represent RIT at NCAA Championships

ROCHESTER, NY - Junior #Erin LaFave (Troy, MI/Bloomfield Hills Lahser)# of the RIT cross country team, will represent the university at the 2011 NCAA Cross Country Championship on Saturday at Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wis., hosted by the University of Wisconsin Osh-Kosh.   LaFave is making her first appearance at the NCAA Championship and will race at 12 p.m.

LaFave, who was named to the 2011 United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region team on Tuesday, recorded the best ever individual finish for a RIT runner at the 2011 NCAA District Championship last weekend.  LaFave set a school record by completing the 6,000-meter course in 22:26.2, as she finished ninth overall out of 265 runners. 

This season, LaFave has five top-five finishes, including a victory at the SUNY Brockport Invitational on Sept. 10.
