ROCHESTER, NY – The 2009-10 RIT men's hockey team was inducted into the 2010 Frontier Field Walk of Fame in conjunction with the Greater Rochester Sports Authority on Sunday, August 15. The squad was honored in the “Chairman's Choice” category.

Lou Spiotti Jr., Director for the Center of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation were in attendance to accept this tremendous accolade. The group was honored before the Rochester Red Wings played the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs in Triple-A baseball action at Frontier Field.
Twenty three individuals, including professional athletes, amateur coaches and athletes, local media and administrators, were among those who shared the spotlight with the 2009-10 team. In addition, the 1990 University of Rochester men's basketball team was honored as the "Team of the Ages." In 2008, the 1982-83 NCAA Division II Champion RIT men's hockey team was honored as the "Team of the Ages."
The Tigers enjoyed a dream season in 2009-10, advancing to the NCAA Frozen Four, while recording a school record 28 wins en route to capturing the Atlantic Hockey regular season and tournament championships, being the nation's only school to win both conference titles. RIT was 28-12-1 overall, and 22-5-1 in Atlantic Hockey play
RIT advanced to the Frozen Four with wins over No. 2 overall seed Denver from the WCHA and No. 12 New Hampshire from Hockey East in the East Regional in Albany. The wins also capped a school record 12-game winning streak by RIT. The Tigers became the first Atlantic Hockey program to qualify for the Frozen Four and it marked the school's first NCAA appearance since becoming a Division I program in 2005-2006.
