Cameron Burt (Detroit, MI/) of the RIT men's hockey team was named the Atlantic Hockey Association Player of the Month of February on Tuesday. It is Burt's first monthly honor as a member of the Tigers. He was a two-time AHA Rookie of the Week last season.
Burt led the Tigers to a 7-1 mark in February, recording 15 points (2-13-15) in eight games. He also had six multiple-point efforts and 10 power-play points.
Burt opened the month with three assists in a 5-2 win over Sacred Heart. The following afternoon, Burt dished out two assists. On Feb. 13, Burt recorded a career-high four assists in a 5-2 win at Army. Burt scored a power-play goal and added an assist in a 3-2 overtime win over Air Force on Feb. 19. On Feb. 26, Burt scored a goal and dished out two assists in an 8-0 win over Canisius. Burt leads RIT with 13 goals and is second with 23 assists and 36 points in 33 games this season.
The Tigers return to action on Friday, March 12, as they host a yet-to-be determined opponent in game one of the Atlantic Hockey Association Quarterfinals at Ritter Arena.
