ROCHESTER, NY -- RIT freshman guard Leslie Havens (Wayland, NY/Wayland-Cohocton) has been named the Empire 8 Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the week ending February 7, 2010.

Havens scored 13 second-half points as RIT defeated St. John Fisher College 59-56, just the third Tigers’ win over the Cardinals in the program’s history. She hit six of eight shots from the floor, including a three-pointer, and added two rebounds, an assist, and a steal.

Havens is second on the team in scoring averaging 10.2 points per game. She is second on the team in assists dishing out 1.8 per game and averages 3.3 rebounds per game.

The Tigers return to action on Tuesday, February 9 when they host Empire 8 and cross-town rival Nazareth College. Tip-off at Clark Gymnasium is at 6 pm.
