BOSTON, MA -- The men's track and field team had several outstanding performances on Saturday as they competed against a large pool of Division I teams at the Boston University Valentine Invitational. Four school records were broken, personal records were set, and qualifying times were met.

Junior Brecht Moulin (Scarborough, ME/Scarborough) had an amazing race in the 400-meter dash. Moulin sped around the track and crossed the finish line in a time of 48.94 seconds. This outstanding time enabled him to set the school record as well as provisionally qualify him for the NCAA Championship meet. Senior Jon Sealander (Hannibal, NY/Hannibal) also had a great 400-meter race as he set a personal record and qualified for the ECAC Championship meet. Sealander accomplished these feats with a time of 49.76 seconds.

Moulin and Sealander later teamed up with Matt Marion (Lima, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima) and Chris Webb (Sicklerville, NJ/Winslow Township) in the 4x400-meter relay. The team dominated their heat and demolished the school record. The team completed the relay in a time of 3:19.25 seconds. Not only did they crush the school record, their time also provisionally qualified the relay team for the NCAA Championship meet.

Fellow classmates and teammates Anthony Schiavone (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) and Brian Walker (Brockport, NY/Brockport) also set a school record for the team. Schiavone broke the record in the 200-meter dash, sprinting through the finish line in a time of 22.90 seconds. Walker broke his own school record for the third time this season in the weight throw. Walker tossed the weight 15.60 meters.

Junior John Holleran (West Warwick, RI/Bishop Hendricken) set a personal record in the 1,000-meter race. Holleran ran a time of 3:25.07. His time also qualified him for the ECAC Championship meet. Sophomore Mike Kurvach (Victor, NY/Victor) also set a personal record for the 3,000 meter race. Kurvach finished the race in a time of 8:41.62.

The men's team will be back in action this coming Friday as they compete in the Tiger Invitational held at the Gordon Field House.
