BROCKPORT, NY -- The RIT men's swimming and diving team defeated SUNY Brockport 165-65 on Thursday night in Brockport, New York. The win improves the Tigers to 4-2 in dual meets this season.
RIT swept the first two spots in the 200-yard medley relay and never looked back. The team of
Kevin Christiansen (Penfield, NY/Penfield),
Bryan Minicucci (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield),
Alex Hebert (Norwell, MA/Norwell High School) and
Jeff Kaemmerlen (Fairport, NY/Fairport) won the race in a time of 1:41.07.
The Tigers were led by
Nate Morefield (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley High School),
Steve Rois (Amherst, NY/Amherst High School) and
Jeff Kaemmerlen (Fairport, NY/Fairport) who each won a pair of individual events.
Morefield won the 1,000-yard freestyle in a time of 10:46.30, and he won the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:12.15.
Rois took home first in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:50.06, and the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:05.64.
Kaemmerlen was first in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 22.35, and he won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 49.04.
#A.J. Broderick# was a winner in the 200-yard IM (2:02.35) and Steve Berus won the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:19.69.
RIT returns to action on Saturday, January 9 at Empire 8 foe Utica College. The meet gets underway at 1 pm in Utica, New York.
