ROCHESTER, NY -- Sophomore swimmer Kevin Christiansen (Penfield, NY/Penfield) was named the Empire 8 Male Swimmer of the Week on Monday for the week ending January 10, 2010.

Christiansen won the 100-yard freestyle in 49.60 seconds and the 200-yard individual medley in 2:12.39 as RIT defeated Utica 194-36. He swam on the winning 200-yard medley relay in a 165-65 Tigers' victory over Brockport.

RIT returns to action on Saturday, January 16 at 1 pm when they host SUNY Geneseo and SUNY New Paltz at Judson Pool
