COBLESKILL, NY -- The RIT men's cross country team had the four top finishers and six in the top-10 en route to a convincing win at the Stephen A. Warde Invitational hosted by SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday. RIT finished with a team score of 16 points, outscoring second place SUNY Delhi.
Senior
Mike Hardbarger (Parkersburg, WV/Ritchie County) paced the field, finishing the 8k course in a time of 27:13.29.
Nick Meeker (Hamburg, NJ/Wallkill Valley) was second in a time of 27:19.38 and
Mike Brindak (Syracuse, NY/Solvay) was third in a time of 27:24.83.
Jared Burdick (Manlius, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) was fourth, finishing the course in a time of 27:40.27. All four runners broke the course record for RIT.
Freshman
Mike Kurvach (Victor, NY/Victor) had posted a top-10 finish in his first collegiate meet. He finished sixth in a time of 28:25.96. Sophomore
Zach Miller (Ironville, PA/Hempfield) was eighth, finishing in a time of 28:46.26.
RIT returns to action on Saturday, September 19 when they compete at the University of Buffalo Invitational. The men's race gets underway at 12 p.m.
