Mike Hardbarger (Parkersburg, WV/Ritchie County), Matt Joseph (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland) and sophomore
Brecht Moulin (Scarborough, ME/Scarborough) earned 2009 United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) All-Academic Track and Field honors on Monday.
In order to qualify for the prestigious individual honor, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 and met the NCAA Division III Indoor or Outdoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard in their respective event.
Hardbarger was a 2009 Indoor All-American in the mile, placing seventh. He also competed in the 1,500-meter run in the 2009 Outdoor NCAA Championships. Hardbarger is a two-time All-American.
Joseph broke the RIT record in the decathlon and finished ninth overall at the 2009 NCAA Outdoor Championships with a score of 6,614 points. Joseph missed securing All-American status by 35 points and was just 66 points from sixth place.
Moulin provisionally qualified for the 2009 NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 4 x 400-meter relay, helping break a 40-year old school record.
