ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT men's tennis team (4-3, 2-2 Empire 8) blanked the St. John Fisher College Cardinals (4-10, 2-3 Empire 8) 9-0 in Empire 8 action at the Gordon Field House on Tuesday afternoon.

The Tigers were unstoppable on Tuesday, only dropping one set on the day.  Impressive play from Jose Guzman (Guatemala), John Traver (Clifton Park, NY), and Clayton Tontarski (Rochester, NY), who dropped a total of two games, sparked the team.

Freshman Max Bogue (Colchester, VT) had to battle Karl Schiefer to claim victory at fourth singles.  Schiefer took the first set, 5-7, but Bogue fought back, winning the second set 6-3, and the deciding third set by a score of 10-8.

The doubles teams of Traver/Adam Wolf (South Euclid, OH), and John Albers (Grand Rapids, MI)/Larry Hall (Fairport, NY) both picked up their fourth wins of the season.

The Tigers are back in action on Friday, when they host Utica College in an Empire 8 matchup.  Play starts at 4 p.m.
