Evans named Empire 8 goalkeeper of the week for third time in 2009
ROCHESTER, NY -- RIT senior goalkeeper Kelsey Evans (Carlisle, PA/Cumberland Valley) of the women's lacrosse team was named the Empire 8 Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday for the week ending April 19, 2009. It's Evans' third Empire 8 Goalkeeper of the Week honor of the season.

ROCHESTER, NY -- RIT senior goalkeeper Kelsey Evans (Carlisle, PA/Cumberland Valley) (Carlisle, PA/Cumberland Valley) of the women's lacrosse team was named the Empire 8 Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday for the week ending April 19, 2009. It's Evans' third Empire 8 Goalkeeper of the Week honor of the season.

Evans posted a 8.20 goals against average and a .563 save percentage as RIT remained undefeated in Empire 8 play.  She allowed six goals and made 13 saves in a 12-6 Tigers’ win over Fredonia on Thursday and stopped 10 shots in a 12-7 victory over preseason conference favorite Ithaca on Saturday.  The win was the Tigers’ first over the Bombers in the program’s history.

Evans is second in the nation with a .583 save percentage.  She is 12-3 with an 8.25 goals against average.

RIT (12-3, 7-0 Empire 8) is riding an eight-game winning streak and hosts No. 11 Stevens (13-0, 6-0 Empire 8) on Saturday for the Empire 8 Regular Season Championship.  The game will be played on the RIT Turf Field at 12 p.m.
