ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT men's tennis team (5-3, 3-2 Empire 8) blitzed the Utica College Pioneers (0-3, 0-3 Empire 8) 8-1 in Empire 8 action at the RIT Tennis Courts on Friday afternoon.  It is RIT's fourth straight victory.

The Tigers played excellent tennis, only dropping two sets on the day. John Traver (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) (Clifton Park, NY/Shenedehowa) earned a straight-set win at first singles, while freshman Max Bogue (Colchester, VT/Colchester) (Colchester, VT/Colchester) was a 6-2, 6-1 winner at second singles.  Josh Goldstein (Miami, FL/Palmer Trinity) (Miami, FL/Palmer Trinity), Corey Maher (Penfield, NY/Penfield) (Penfield, NY/Penfield) and John Albers (Grands Rapids, MI/Forest Hills) (Grand Rapids, MI/Forest Hills) also garnered singles victories in straight sets for the Tigers.

The team of Jose Guzman (Guatemala/Collegio Valle Verde) (Guatemala/Collegio Valle Verde) and Clayton Tontarski (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) (Rochester, NY/Rush Henrietta) earned the win at first doubles.  Traver/Adam Wolf (South Euclid, Ohio/Brush) (South Euclid, OH), and John Albers (Grands Rapids, MI/Forest Hills) and Larry Hall (Fairport, NY/Fairport) (Fairport, NY/Fairport) both picked up their fifth wins of the season at seocnd and third doubles, respectively.

The Tigers are right back in action on Saturday, when they host Hartwick College in an Empire 8 matchup. Play starts at 1 p.m.
