ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT wrestling team (6-10) fell to #29 SUNY Cortland, 40-9 in the final regular season home dual meet at Clark Gym on Wednesday evening. RIT won just two of the 10 matches on the evening.
Junior
#Jason Wake (Delhi, NY/Delaware Academy)# (Delhi, NY/Delaware Academy) improved to 23-8 overall and 10-3 in dual matches after defeating Will Brodfuehrer, 8-3 at 165 lbs., Sophomore
#Stephan Avorkliya (Charlotte, NC/East Mecklenburg)# (Charlotte, NC/East Mecklenburg) pinned George Dobrovosky in 1:38 at 197 lbs. to improve to 14-14 this season.
Senior
#Luke Baum (Ontario, NY/Wayne)# (Ontario, NY/Wayne) suffered his first dual loss of the season at 141 lbs., falling to Joe Widoock, 3-1. Baum had won his first 16 dual matches of the year.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, as they travel to compete in the Baldwin Wallace Tournament, starting at 9 a.m.
